After her father's death, Chloe was left broken. Unable to deal with her loss, she became withdrawn and detatched, growing up into a shy and socially awkward girl. Unable to find herself any new friends, she spent her time reading books and dreaming about a better life. But more than anything, she wished her childhood friend Max would come back to Arcadia Bay.

In the meantime, Max's world was flipped upside down by a sudden move to Seattle. Furious at her parents for taking her away from a grieving friend, she never really adjusted to her new home or school and soon began to act out. Growing up bitter and rebellious, she spent the years saving up money for her one purpose in life - to ditch her parents and get back to Arcadia Bay. And finally her dream comes true when she gets accepted into Blackwell Academy. Now she's coming back to shake up the school!
